This article explains how to access Parallel Search from within our Compose software. There are two ways to access Parallel Search from within the Compose software platform:

You can use Parallel Search to find supporting cases and other authorities for specific sentences in your brief. Type a sentence into the draft of your brief on the Compose platform and then use your cursor to highlight that sentence. A menu of icons will appear above the highlighted sentence. To launch Parallel Search, click on the magnifying glass icon:

This will take you to the Parallel Search section of the Content Panel (on the left side of your screen):

From here, you can see your Parallel Search results for the sentence you typed. When you see a case that supports your statement, click "Add" to add it to your draft. A parenthetical citation will be added to your motion, quoting the yellow highlighted portion of the case you selected.

Click on the "Research" tab in your Content Panel, enter a full sentence in the box provided, then click Search Cases.

As above, when you see a case that supports your statement, click Add to add a parenthetical citation to your draft.
