Reference attorney training includes 1-1 guidance that applies generative AI technology to a subscriber’s specific practice areas. This service focuses on training legal practitioners to craft effective prompts and follow-up refinements to get the most out of their interactions with generative AI.

Every member of our reference attorney team is a former practitioner with real-world legal experience who also knows how to apply advanced, generative AI technology to the practice of law.

Did Casetext previously offer additional reference attorney support?


Prior to November 15, 2023, Casetext offered unlimited reference attorney training and support as a premium service to Enterprise and CoCounsel subscribers, and Casetext offered 4 legal research questions a month to Basic, or Legacy, Research subscribers.

However, legal research has changed.

Keyword guesswork and Boolean codes are no longer the only or most effective way to search for responsive authority in legal databases, or relevant documents in your large datasets. In recognition of this change, Casetext is offering new plans that balance access to the best legal content and the most innovative AI technology for attorneys in a range of practice areas.

As a result, after November 15, 2023, Casetext reference attorney training will focus on helping legal practitioners to craft effective prompts and follow-up refinements to get the most out of their interactions with generative AI. These services are relevant to subscribers with access to Casetext’s generative AI platform, CoCounsel, but these services will not be useful for Basic, or Legacy, Research subscribers.

Enterprise customers will receive reference attorney support for users across all subscriptions.

Can I still get support without a subscription to Casetext’s generative AI platform, CoCounsel?
